Integrate Inventory Windows
Currently we have 2 different windows that show the loot your character has, the normal inventory window (I) and the inventory bags window (f9). It seems to me that these two windows that do almost exactly the same thing should be integrated. Right now,the inventory window is useful for changing weapons/armor and the bags window is good for moving things around and salvaging/identifying. if these two were integrated it would make my life alot easier. I think theses windows should be integrated so that the new window looks like the current inventory window with the backpak/peltpouch/bags as drop down windows below the character preview.
Poll Edited by Celestial Beaver: Removed the pointless "I Like Pie" option.

Both of those windows can be open at the same time, so you can have everything you want, but in two seperate windows. If there were only one window, it would take up have to stretch from the top of people's screens to the bottom, or even further depending on the resolution.
I think the inventory system is fine the way it is, any updates/upgrades would just be a waste of time. I guess some people would find it handy...

I like your idea -Lotus-, but why does the GuildWars community need it? I also believe that it's fine how the two windows re at the moment.

Open them both and you'll get what you want.

You suggestion will make the window too long. It's already good how it is. /agree with the above posts.

The window would be far too long. It's not like we need to choose between one window or the other. We can actually view both at the same time...

This seems completely not needed as you can just open both windows.
But there are improvements to be done - I'd much rather see more ways of splitting the inventory windows, I'd love to be able to have 1 bag window open separately, without the whole [I] character inventory. I remember it WAS possible in the past, don't remember when they nerfed it.

lmao I can see why people say Sardelac sucks sometimes
Nothing in this game is truly "needed". If that is your only argument against something, then every single thing in this forum should be closed.
No, it isn't needed. Is it a good change? Yes. It is good game design in general.
Doesn't fit the screen? Worst argument ever. heaven forbid ArenaNet possibly change the design of the inventory screen so that the inventory slots show up on the right (and make it adjustable thru the F11 interface window for those of us who don't have 13" monitors...).
Seriously.

Instead of 'not needed' I should have said "No, it's a BAD suggestion I really don't want to see in my game"
I often play with inventory open all the time (for swapping additional weapon sets or even using certain consumables) and I want it to be as small as possible. That's why I said I'd much rather prefer separation of single bag windows from the whole huge F9 window. But most certainly I don't want that extra [I] panel opened at all while playing, the window with all bags is big enough.

Suggestion: Combine the windows, but make each section (Backpack, Belt Pouch, Bag1, Bag2) collapsable so that you can even have just your character and current equipment up, or just one or two section of your inventory.

It's fine the way it is. If there was still the option to keep them separate, I wouldn't mind- but I prefer having F9 up by itself most of the time anyway.

This suggestion is a very poor game design. It's a straight nerf.
There are absolutely NO benefits from merging these windows. The way it works now allows more flexibility in interface customization and usability. Allowing further separation or collapsing chosen bags would be a direct improvement from what we got in game now.

You can already have one bag at a time open or all of them at the same time. Why change it.

I don't know about you guys, but I take off my bags + belt and hit F9 when I'm pvp'ing so I can swap weapons.
I like the "individual" bags options but the fact that they have the character showing makes me like the F9 option better.

I've browsed some of my old screenshots and found out that this coolness:
was only possible for a very short time, and since Feb'05 the current system was in place and it hasn't seen any improvements since then.
I'd love to see this as an option again, it could allow for more better interface customizability for those who like to play with inventory open most of the time.
Unfortunately the OP and the poll is about going exactly the opposite way, that's sad.
Maybe I should start a separate thread for an actual improvement idea?
